This barbequed ham Vietnamese sub (or bánh mì) from Van Loc is highly affordable at $3.50.

The foot-long sandwich features pickled carrots, jalapenos (if you like), fish sauce, peanuts, cilantro, cucumber and the sausagey ham, wrapped in a long crispy baguette. The bánh mì is toasted, and wrapped in a paper bag that retains the heat and crispiness.

Most subs on the menu range between $3.50 and $4.50.
